The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), has detained the managing director of Medview Airline, Mr. Muneer Bankole.

Bankole was detained on Monday at the headquarters of the EFCC in Jabi, Abuja.

There are strong indications that he might pass the night at the commission as he has not been released as at the time of filing this report.

A source who confided with one of our correspondents said that Bankole is not likely to be released as the operatives were not yet through with grilling him.

A source disclosed that Bankole had arrived the anti graft commission’s complex around 11am on Monday, January 31, 2022.

He was was said to have been invited by operatives of the agency over alleged diversion of 50 percent of funds paid to him by the National Hajj Commission, and an additional $900,000 USD, for the airlift of pilgrims in 2019.

He allegedly received the funds as mobilization fee but did not execute the contract.

Spokesman for the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, when contacted confirmed the arrest but refused further comments on the case.
