News Investigators/ Dr. Ugochukwu Charles Ugwuanyi, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has hailed the said election of Dr. Ben Nwoye’s as Deputy National Chairman (South) of the party, describing it as a significant step towards strengthening the governing party’s foothold among voters in the Southern Nigeria.
Dr. Ugwuanyi, a medical practitioner and Chief Consultant Neurosurgeon said that Nwoye’s track record as a former APC chairman in Enugu state positions him to rally support across the South for President Bola Tinubu and consolidating on the party’s achievements.
The APC chieftain, in a statement, congratulated, the Deputy National Chairman on his recent appointment, noting that he is well positioned to deepen APC acceptance in Southern Nigeria and promote political stability for democratic benefits. Adding that Nwoye’s reputation as an inclusive, grassroots-oriented leader will help consolidate APC’s gains across 17 Southern states.
“Dr. Nwoye’s emergence strengthens the party’s southern foothold. His proven track record as former Enugu State APC Chairman, paired with his inclusive and grassroots style, positions him to build on these gains.”
Dr. Ugwuanyi, admonished Nigerians to back President Bola Tinubu’s reforms, which he said will boost citizens’ welfare, economic growth, and sustainable development in the long term. “Though these reforms pose short-term challenges, I am strongly optimistic they are on track to deliver lasting national benefits.”
Dr. Ugwuanyi, a chief consultant neurosurgeon and politician, expressed optimism about bolstering APC’s growing influence in the Southeast through unity of purpose, strategic leadership, and sustained party engagement. He called unity among APC political leaders and members in South East zone to unite and work for the party’s victory.
He lauded Enugu State Governor Dr. Peter Mbah, a leading APC figure, for his bold, inclusive governance that delivers visible impacts across sectors. “Governor Mbah’s efforts in engaging stakeholders, fostering unity, and restoring governance confidence exemplify rare, sterling leadership.”
Ugwuanyi acknowledged Enugu State’s giant strides under Governor Mbah across infrastructure, education, healthcare, and aviation, testimony to disciplined, purposeful leadership.
He commended Enugu State APC Chairman Dr. Martins Chukwunweike for his leadership, urging for party unity and active mobilisation to advance the APC’s grand vision. Ugwuanyi called for solidarity among Enugu APC members, stakeholders, and supporters to build a stronger, inclusive party grounded in stability, cooperation, and shared purpose.
He praised the former APC Deputy National Chairman, Chief Emma Eneukwu, whose tenure built a solid foundation for APC growth and cohesion in Southern Nigeria.
