•••Drops Dr Mary Shetty for Mairiya Mahmoud Bunkure
The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday, withdrew the initial ministerial nominee list he sent to the Senate to accommodate the immediate former minister of Labour and Productivity and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Festus Keyamo, as a ministerial nominee.
The announcement of the withdrawal of the list was made by the Majority Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, at the floor of the National Assembly, during the ongoing screening of nominees
Tinubu rijig the list to accommodate Keyamo who was announced as a ministerial nominee after the removal of Kano state nominee, Dr. Maryam Shetty, who was earlier schedule for screening, on Friday.
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio announced Keyamo at the floor of the National Assembly, during the ongoing screening of nominees
According to the letter transmitted to the Senate by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Shetty was replaced with Mairiya Mahmoud Bunkure, also from Kano state.
Shetty’s name was forwarded to the Senate for screening on Wednesday alongside 18 other nominees.
