The Supreme Court on Friday, affirmed and declared Mr Caleb Mutfwang, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in the March 18, 2023 governorship election as the duly elected governor of Plateau State.
Recall that the Court of Appeal in Abuja, had upturned the Plateau State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in Jos, and awarded victory to Nentawe Yilwatda, prompting him to approach the supreme court.
But Justice Emmanuel Agim, who delivered the judgment ruled that the appeal by the governor had merit.
Justice Agim, set aside the judgment of the Court of Appeal and affirmed the mandate given to Mutfwang to lead the state.
It will be recalled that Mutfwang of the PDP scored 525,299 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Nentawe Yilwatda who garnered 481,370 votes during the March 18, 2023 governorship poll in the state.
