News Investigators/ Former Governor of Edo, Godwin Obaseki, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
Mr Obaseki, in a statement on Sunday in Benin, said the victory was significant because it reflected the decision of the people of Osun to entrust him with another four-year mandate.
The former governor, who is a Researcher/Scholar at the School of African Studies, Boston University, United States of America, said the victory demonstrated the futility of anti-democratic forces deployed.
“I congratulate Sen. Ademola Adeleke on his decisive victory in the Saturday, August 15, Osun governorship election.
“Your victory sends a clear message that when Nigerians stand together with courage, determination and common purpose, they can defend democratic choices and compel leaders to act in the best interests of the people.
“From my political experience, a hard-fought election ultimately decided by the people reminds every public office holder that loyalty must always remain with the people,” he said.
He urged Mr Adeleke to dedicate his second term to Osun’s development, welfare and progress.
