KNHA Urges State Govt To Address US Allegations Against Kwankwaso

News Investigators/ Kano State House of Assembly (KNHA) has called on the state government to formally respond to the allegations made by the United States concerning Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, which include claims of terrorism, the proposed freezing of his assets and bank accounts.

The motion, presented by Usman Tasiu (NNPP-Kiru) was discussed during a plenary session presided over by Speaker, Jibril Falgore, on Tuesday in Kano.

Mr Tasiu described Kwankwaso as a dedicated public servant whose administration had made significant contributions to the welfare of Kano residents.

He emphasised Kwankwaso’s role in promoting peace, supporting education, and driving infrastructural development for both Muslims and Christians.

Furthermore, Mr Tasiu stressed the Senator’s consistent efforts as a unifying figure, mediating conflicts between Nigeria’s northern and southern regions while maintaining a firm stance against terrorism throughout his tenure.

After thorough deliberation, the house unanimously adopted the motion, urging the Kano State Government to take the necessary actions in response to the allegations from the United States.

In addition, the assembly had approved several motions calling on the state government to construct roads in various local government areas, including Tarauni, Madobi, Garun Malam, and Madobi.

These motions were presented by Kabiru Dahiru (APC-Tarauni), Sulaiman Ishaq (APC-Madobi), Deputy Speaker, Muhammad Bello(APC- RiminGado)and Zakariyya Alhassan (APC-Kura/Garun Malam).

The house adjourned its sitting until Monday, March 2, 2026, following a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Lawan Hussaini.
