A policeman has been shot dead by gunmen on Sunday around 6:10pm, in Eke Oko, Aguata local Government area of Anambra State.
The Network gathered that the yet to be identified policeman was riding on his motorcycle, when he was blocked along the road by the blood thirst gunmen and shot dead.
It was gathered that the police officer was alone on the motorcycle when he shot dead.
His corpse is still lying along the road while residents of the area are running away from the scene of the incident.
Aguata, is the Local Government Area of the Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo.
The LGA has been under serious attack by unknown gunmen, since the Governor assumed office.
Recall that the Governor visited the leader of IPOB in the DSS detain facility, yesterday.
Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu confirmed the incident but said that identity of the dead policeman is still unknown.
“Yes, I can confirmed that a man in police uniform was killed at Aguata but none of our personnel is dead in Anambra. The Divisional Police officer (DPO) in charge of the local government area has carried out a head count of his personnel at the station and confirmed that the personnel are intact. We are yet to ascertain the identity of the dead policeman,” he said.
