GOV MAKINDE JOINS NLC PROTEST IN IBADAN

••• ASSURES WORKERS THAT ECONOMIC HARDSHIP WOULD SOON BE OVER  

The Governor of Oyo State, Mr Seyi Makinde, on Tuesday, joined the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC in its peaceful protest.

Makinde assured the protesting workers not to lose hope saying that the current hardship in the land would soon be a thing of the past.

He said that he was aware of the difficulties facing Nigerians noting that he would be part of the generation that would solve the problem.

The NLC train started from the Congress’ secretariat at Agodi  and moved to  Gate – NTA – Yemetu roundabout where Governor Makinde joined it.

He promised to deliver the workers’ message to President Bola Tinubu.

“I am aware of the hardship in town and the difficulty the people are going through but I will be part of the generation that will fix the country.” He said 

In his remarks, the state NLC Chairman, Kayode Martins, said that the increasing cost of living was suffocating the ordinary Nigerian.

He said that Nigerians are now tired of the pangs of the terrible economic situation which has pushed them to the streets.

He said, “The cost of living in Nigeria today is nothing to write home and the people are fed up, so that’s why we are on the street now.”
