The Veteran Broadcaster and accomplished sports journalist, Fabio Olanikpekun, had died.
He died four days after his 80th birthday.
An NTA official close to the family confirmed the passing on of the highly respected journalist.
Fabio’s death came just a week after another iconic sports journalist, Sunny Emmanuel Ojagbaese died in the United States.
He was born as Adesola Lanipekun, but was said to have adopted the name ‘Fabio’ from a novel he read while he was a student at the Methodist Boys High School in Lagos.
Details of his death would be made public by the family later.
