Crisis has broken out in Jos as Police teargas 16 Peoples Democratic lawmakers who were sacked by the Court of Appeal.
The lawmakers who have been agitating about the the judgment of the Court of Appeal attempted to take over the State House of Assembly on Tuesday.
The police and other security operatives prevented the sacked lawmakers from gaining access to the House of Assembly chambers.
The crisis commenced while the lawmakers and their supporters were making preparations for the resumption of plenary at the Rayfield Old Government House in Jos.
The policemen and other security operatives were still trying to disperse the crowd as at the time of writing this report.
The angry lawmakers defied the police presence refusing to leave the Government House.
With the escalating tension in the state, policemen were deployed to the Old Government House Jos venue of the sitting as early as 5am in anticipation of crisis.
The 16 PDP legislators whose elections were voided by the Court of Appeal are predicating their position on the Supreme Court judgment that overturned the decision of the Court of Appeal and reinstated Governor Caleb Mutfwang.
