News Investigators/ Gov. Dauda Lawal of Zamfara has approved the constitution of a 15-man committee to investigate the cause of the recent fire incident at a Qur’anic School in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area that killed 17 Almajiri children.

Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Malam Abubakar Nakwada said the committee was mandated to assess the level of damages, recommend measures to prevent the recurrence of such unfortunate incidents.
He said the committee would also suggest appropriate support for those affected to facilitate recovery.
According to the SSG, the committee will also help the government in implementing proactive safety measures across other similar schools and public places in the state in line with the National Fire Safety Code.
The committee has Prof. Jafaru Makau-Kaura as Chairman with members including Sheikh Ahmad Kanoma, Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Matters.
Others are the Chairman, State Hisbah Commission and representatives of Ministry for Religious Affairs and Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
Other members include representatives from Ministry for Local Government Affairs, three members from the State Ulama Consultative Council, representatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Department of State Services (DSS), NSCDC and the Department of Fire Service, among others.
Nakeada said the Secretary of the Ulama Consultative Council would serve as Secretary of the committee.
The SSG said the committee would commence its assignment with immediate effect.
