News Investigators/ Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, says his administration will continue to deliver more dividends of democracy through people-oriented policies, transparency, accountability and sustainable development.
He stated this when he received multiple awards in recognition of his administration’s achievements in good governance and development across various sectors.
The Director-General, Media and Publicity to the governor, Sanusi Bature, made this known in a statement on Thursday in Kano.
The awards, he said, were presented during the 41st Executive Council Meeting held at the Governor’s Lodge, Aminu Kano House, Abuja.
Mr Bature noted that the organisations and institutions that presented the awards had assessed various physical development projects and initiatives being implemented by the administration.
“As well as the administration’s efforts to promote accountability and transparency in governance,” he quoted the governor as saying.
The Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule-Garo, said the recognitions reflected the appreciation of various organisations for the administration’s performance across different sectors.
According to Bature, the awards include the Award of Excellence from the Northwest Veteran Foundation and the BusinessDay Governor of the Year Award.
Others were the Award of Excellence from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during its National Day celebration and an award from the National Qur’anic Memorisation Association.
