News Investigators/ Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has commended the Federal Government for suspending the increase in the National Examinations Council (NECO) examination fees.

This is contained in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, on Wednesday in Kano.

Mr Muhammad said that Mr Yusuf made the commendation while distributing appointment letters to 4,900 teachers for basic and secondary schools as well as the engagement of 3,688 Abba Gida-Gida BESDA Cohort V facilitators.

He also commended the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) for their commitment towards promoting inclusive and affordable education nationwide.

Mr Yusuf reiterated the state government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the ministry, UBEC, NECO and other relevant agencies to investment in education for improved learning outcomes.
