Wike Replicates Rainbow Coalition In FCT For Good Governance

News Investigators/ Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has replicated his Rivers’ Rainbow Coalition initiative in FCT, to deliver good governance to residents in area councils.

Mr Wike disclosed this while hosting the newly elected cCairmen of FCT Area Councils, who visited him in Abuja on Wednesday.

The chairmen visited the Minister to present their Certificates of Return issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of their swearing-in in June.

He congratulated the chairmen on their victory during the Feb. 21 FCT area council elections and urged them to prioritise good governance and cooperation for the benefit of the people.

The minister pledged to work closely with the chairmen irrespective of party affiliations under the rainbow coalition initiative aimed at delivering development to residents.

He explained that the initiative would bring together the chairmen and councillors elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC) and those elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to work together for the good of FCT residents.

According to him, effective governance in the territory requires collaboration among leaders, regardless of political differences.

“No matter the party, what is important is that we work together. Since I came as minister, we have always worked together in the city, and that is why we have continued to achieve results.

“By the grace of God, you have worked hard and emerged victorious, and we thank God for the opportunity given to you to serve.

“Candidates who supported Mr President received our support, and we thank God they emerged victorious. Even those from other parties who are supporting Tinubu will be part of our rainbow coalition in the FCT,” Wike said.

Mr Wike assured the chairmen that the FCT Administration would partner with them once they assume office in June, urging them to prepare for the responsibilities ahead.

“By the time you are sworn in, we will begin to work together to move the councils forward.

“The support given to you by Mr President means you must reciprocate by giving good governance to the people,” he advised.

He also congratulated the outgoing council chairmen, wishing them success in their future endeavours.
