VON To Broadcast TETFund Narratives In 8 Languages

News Investigators/ The Voice of Nigeria (VON) has offered its platform to the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund)  to project positive narratives of the fund across the country in eight languages.

The Director-General of VON, Jibrin Ndace announced this on Wednesday in Abuja when he led his management team on a  courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Mr Sonny Echono.

“We broadcast in English which is a national language and also in French, Swahili and Arabic.

“We also broadcast in four indigenous languages – Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba and Fulfulde-.

“We are aware that TETFund has built a very media friendly institution and your media department is working hard.

“We want to offer the VON Platform to you, to help amplify your own stories.

“When you speak to us in one language, we are going to tell the world in eight languages,” he said.

.r Ndace said VON was established as an instrument of soft power to help in shaping positive narrative about Nigeria and Nigerians, Africa and Africans.

He disclosed that the media organisation had opened discussion with the Chinese Embassy and very soon, would also start broadcasting in Madarin and Portuguese.

Mr Ndace commended TETFund for the instrumental roles it is playing in the development of infrastructure and research in tertiary institutions.

He, also, commended President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris for their efforts in moving the country forward.

Responding, Echono also appreciated Tinubu for putting square pegs in square holes by appointing people with media background to manage the government media organisations.

He said TETFund is proud and glad to broaden and deepen  partnership with VON to expand its reach in the publicity of what they are doing

Echono disclosed that TETFund would do a lot of commissioning of projects in 2026, adding that, they want an arrangement where every work they are doing is adequately covered and reported.

The  News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the highpoint of the visit was a short video on the activities and mandate of TETFUND.
