The former Secretary to the Imo State State Government, Hon Uche Onyeagucha, was returned as the winner of the Owerri Zone (Imo East Senatorial District) ticket in the 2023 elections.
Onyeagucha polled 134 Votes to defeat
his opponents Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi (110 Votes) and Maduka Basil who got 64 votes.
