Tsamiya Attack: Kebbi CP Deploys Tactical Personnel, Search For Kidnapped Kictim Begins

News Investigators/ The Kebbi Police Command has deployed tactical personnel to Tsamiya town following a reported attack by suspected terrorists in the late hours of June 20.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Bashir Usman, confirmed this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday.

He said: “The assailants invaded the area, fired sporadically, and set ablaze a makeshift checkpoint belonging to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), a local brothel, and the residence of one Sule Mai Goge.

“One Alhaji Yusuf Bazamfare was also kidnapped during the incident.

“Upon receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police immediately directed the deployment of additional security forces to secure lives and property.

“A comprehensive investigation into the incident has since commenced, and efforts to rescue the kidnapped victim and track the perpetrators are ongoing.”

Mr Usman assured residents of Tsamiya and environs that security operations would continue until normalcy “is fully restored”.

He urged members of the public to remain calm and vigilant, pledging that updates would be provided as investigations continue.
