Troops Foil Bandits’ Attack, Rescue 2 Farmers In Sokoto

News Investigators/ Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 8 Division in Sokoto have foiled a bandits’ attack on the Forward Operating Base (FOB) at Tidibale village, Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

A credible security source in the area disclosed the operational success to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Sokoto.

The source said the incident occurred on June 4, adding that two kidnapped farmers were rescued.

“The victims have been taken to the General Hospital in Isa for treatment. The vigilance and swift response of troops saved lives and property.

“Proactive measures are being intensified to protect lives and property. There is need for increased vigilance among farmers,” the source said.

Similarly, troops of Operation Fansan Yamma foiled a Lakurawa terrorists’ attack on Magonho community in Tangaza local government area of the state.

The source, who also pleaded anonymity, said the incident also occurred on June 4, adding that one civilian sustained gunshot injuries during the encounter.

“The troops’ quick response saved lives and property.

“The synergy among security agencies during the operation is worthy of commendation.

“The troops are always battle-ready to tackle all forms of criminality in the country but need sustained community support and vigilance,” the source said.
