TIRED FALCONETS, STRANDED AT INSTABUL AIRPORT

Members of the Nigerian under 20 female team, who represented the country at the FIFA under 20 World Cup in Costa Rica,  the super falconets, were seen stranded at the Departure Hall of the Istanbul International Airport, Turkey.

Screen shot photos of a video of the team at the airport showed the players sleeping on the floor, chairs and other places at the airport.

The Network gathered that the team was on its way from Costa Rica, after losing 0-2 to Netherlands in the under 20 Female World Cup on August 21.

It was learnt that the exhausted players have been at the airport abandoned for over 20 hours.

The are scheduled to depart the airport at 6.15pm today.

The two times FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup finalists left Costa Rica on Tuesday at 6:30am and were pictured sleeping on bare floor and chairs at the Istanbul Airport after staying at a spot for 24 hours.

The situation got worsen as they have no transit visa to enables them secure accommodation in Turkey. 

A former Media Officer of the Super Eagles posted the photos of the players sleeping on the floor online. 

 “Nigeria’s #Falconets have been travelling from Costa Rica since 6:30am on Monday.

“They’re now in Istanbul on a 24-hour layover and sleeping on the airport chairs and floor, or wherever they can find.”
