Sani Appoints Suleiman Sa’ad Abubakar New Emir Of Kagarko

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Suleiman Sa’ad-Abubakar as the new Emir of Kagarko.

The Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Sadiq Mamman-Lagos, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday in Kaduna.

Mr Mamman-Lagos said that the appointment takes immediate effect.

According to him, the new emir, who was until his appointment the son of Turakin Kagarko, emerged after a rigorous selection process conducted by the kingmakers of the Kagarko Emirate Council.

He explained that a pool of contestants were screened before Suleiman Sa’ad Abubakar was eventually selected for the throne.

The commissioner recalled that the appointment followed the death of the late 2nd Class Emir of Kagarko, Alhaji Sa’ad-Abubakar, who died on Jan. 8, after ruling the emirate for six years.

He added that Gov. Sani had congratulated the new emir on ascending the throne of his forefathers.

Mamman-Lagos further stated that arrangements for the formal installation ceremony and presentation of the staff of office would be announced in due course.

He said the governor also charged the new emir to continue to promote peace, unity and harmony across the communities in the emirate.
