Russia Allocates Over $1bn For Damage Payments In Kursk Region

News Investigators/ The Russian Government has allocated more than 100 billion rubles (1.25 billion dollars) for payments to residents of the Kursk Region who lost their essential property.

Russian Prime Minister, Mikhail Mishustin, said this on Monday at a meeting with deputy prime ministers.

Mishustin also announced the decision to allocate an additional 40 billion rubles to the Kursk Region, saying “the money will go toward continued monthly payment to cover the loss of essential property, in accordance with the instructions of the head of state.

“The total funding has already exceeded 100 billion rubles.”

Ukrainian forces crossed the border into Russia and launched an offensive in the Kursk Region in August 2024.

On April 26, 2025, Russian Chief of the General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, announced that the Kursk Region had been fully liberated.
