Re-election: Niger Farmers Purchase APC Forms For Bago

News Investigators/ Farmers under the aegis of All Farmers Association (AFAN) Niger chapter, has purchased the expression of interest and nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for niger state Governor, Umaru Bago ahead of his second-term bid.

Muhammadu Abubakar, State Chairman of AFAN, presented the forms to the governor on Thursday at the Government House, Minna.

Mr Abubakar said that the gesture was to appreciate the governor for his administration’s support and commitment to agricultural development in the state.

He noted that the agricultural revolution initiated by the governor had impacted positively on farmers, improving productivity and livelihoods.

According to him, the farmers are committed to supporting the governor’s re-election, adding that the 2.7 million registered farmers in the state would mobilise to ensure his success.

Responding, Mr Bago expressed appreciation to the farmers for the gesture, describing it as a demonstration of confidence in his administration.

“The reward for good is good always, and the result for hard work is more work,” he said.

The governor assured the farmers that he would not take their support for granted and pledged to sustain and expand programmes aimed at boosting agricultural development in the state.
