PTAD Disburses N3.82bn Pension Arrears To 30,356 DBS Pensioners

News Investigators/ The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has disbursed N3,817,568,592.80 billion pension arrears to 30,356 pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) category.

A statement by the Head of Corporate Communications, PTAD, Olugbenga Ajayi, on Friday in Abuja. said that the beneficiaries fall under the Parastatals Pension Department (PaPD).

Others include those belonging to Defunct and Transferred Agencies Pension Department (DTAPD), and Tertiary, Education and Health Pension Department (TEHPD), he said.

Mr Ajayi said that the payment represents accrued arrears arising from the Back-End Computation (BEC) Review Exercise

He said that the review exercise was conducted by the directorate to address and resolve complaints relating to pension computations and outstanding entitlements of DBS pensioners.

Mr Ajayi said that the payment demonstrates PTAD’s sustained commitment to addressing verified outstanding obligations and improving the welfare of DBS pensioners under its mandate.

He quoted the Executive Secretary of PTAD, Tolulope Odunaiya, as commending the affected pensioners for their cooperation throughout the review process.

Odunaiya reiterated the directorate’s commitment to timely, transparent and accountable payment of verified pension entitlements.

She said that the payment reflected President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to addressing pension-related issues.

The executive secretary said that the administration was also strengthening pension administration under the DBS.
