Prominent Human Rights Lawyer, Femi Falana Takes Over Case of Murdered OAU Student

The family of the murdered Timothy Adegoke, has contacted human rights Lawyer, Mr Femi Falana, (SAN) to take over the prosecution of the case against Adedoyin’s and others who are fingered in his death.

Falana was reported as having said that his firm had accepted to prosecute the high profile case on a pro Bono basis in pursuit of justice.

The Moses Adegoke family of Eruwa had written a letter soliciting the services of the Femi Fala chambers in the pending trial of Chief Adedoyin and others in a letter dated February 3, 2023.

The letter was signed by the father of the deceased, Mr Moses Adegoke, wife of the deceased, Mrs Bolatito Victoria Adegoke, and Mr Olugbade Adegoke, the deceased brother,

The letter reads, “We the family of Moses Adegoke has decided to appoint you as our family lawyer to demand justice on our late son, Adegoke, Timothy Oluwadamilare, at the Hilton Hotel and Resort, Ile-Ife.

“We have full confidence on your expertise and professionalism and hope to get justice on the case.”

The late Timothy Adegoke, a 37 year old student of Masters of Business Administration, travelled to the Distance Learning Centre of OAU, Moro Campus and was declared missing on November 7, 2022.

He believed to have been murdered in the hotel on November 6, 2021.

The police later arrested the owner of Hilton Royal Hotel, Dr Ramon Adedoyin, and six others in relation with his death between November 22 and 15, 2021.

Adedoyin, is being charged with the offence of unlawful interference with a dead body, while the other six accused persons are charged with various offences ranging from murder, conspiracy, altering receipt, along with other stated offences.
