“Cult related violence broke out in the early hours of Friday 11/02/2022 between some hoodlums around Oremeji Area, Ibadan.

“Upon the strength of a distress call received by operatives of the Oyo State Police Command, deployments of operational and tactical assets were swiftly executed.

“Preliminary investigation reveals that the violence was as result of claims for supremacy among the hoodlums and in the process a gang member lost his life with others injured while motorcycles and vehicles were vandalized.

“Meanwhile, Normalcy has returned to the area as it remains under close monitoring and surveillance with high visibility policing and intensive patrols.

However, the PRO of the State Park Management, Jelili Emiola, last week stated that there was a clash between Federal Boys andotor Park Managers in Oremeji Agugu in Ibadan North East Local Government Area contrary to the position of Police command.

“We have reported the case to the police at Agugu Police Station but nothing was done. Some of them told us that the police could not do anything to them because some of the men connive with them.

“But yesterday, while the robbery at Iwo Road was going on, there was gridlock on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and these Federal Boys used that also to be robbing people in the traffic.

“Some of those who escaped ran to our park in that area but these boys still pursued them there. We had to drive them back. They came back and attacked our offices after we had closed but security agents have taken over the place now.”
