PETER OBI CONDEMNS ATTACK ON AMICHI POLICE DIVISIONAL HEADQUARTERS

Former Governor of Anambra State and a Presidental aspirant for the 2023 Presidental elections, Mr Peter Obi, had condemned the heinous attack conducted by hoodlums on the Amichi Divisional Police Headquarters in the Nnewi-South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Obi while reacting on his Twitter handle@Peter Obi, yesterday night, said the attack is condemnable adding that; “there can be no justification for taking human life and destroying infrastructure meant to serve the needs of the people, especially against the backdrop of scarce resources.”

“It is even more worrisome that this attack on a Police station undergoing reconstruction from a previous destruction in 2020 is coming barely 24 hours after the headquarters of the same LGA was attacked and razed down with one fatality”. He stated.

On Saturday, gunmen set ablaze the Amichi Police Station in Nnewi South Local Goverment Area of Anambra State, 72 hours after burning down the Nnewi South LGA Headquarters.

The recent attacks on the Council Headquarters and now police station may not be unconnected with the attempt to end of sit-at-home.
