The Governor of Sokoto State, Waziri Tambuwal, has described his purported resignation as not untrue saying he never resigned as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors Forum
Tambuwal denied ever resigning from his position in a statement by the Director General of the forum, CID Maduabum on Friday.
Tambuwal was one of the PDP presidential aspirants, who withdrew from the PDP primary election to pave the way for the victory Atiku Abubakar, victory.
The statement reads, “This is to inform the general public and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, that the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum (PDP-GF), Rt Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has not resigned as Chairman of the Forum, contrary to some media reports.
“Members of the PDP Governors Forum are working behind the scenes to resolve all contending issues concerning the party. To this end a meeting of the Forum will soon be convened”.
The Network gathered that Senator Walid Jibrin was sacrificed by the Northern leaders of the party, to quit the BoT Chairmanship position against his Will, in order to keep Iyorcha Ayu, as the PDP chairman in the office.
