There is panic in some parts of Abuja over fears that operatives of terrorist groups and daredevil bandits are sneaking into the city.
The latest fears are ignited by a curious movement of scores of faceless youths into the city during the Easter celebration.
A trailer loaded with young boys and middle aged men and women has allegedly off-loaded strangers at the Angwan-Fulani, Dakwa area near Dei-Dei, a boundary community between the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and the Niger State.
There are reports that the presence of the strange looking men has caused panic among the residents of the Dei-Dei area of the Federal Capital Territory.
There are reports that there is an observed surge of crime such as robbery, kidnapping, car jacking and others at Dakwa.
Daily Trust had reported that scores of young men disembarked from the particular truck at a location near Dantata Junction along the Kubwa-Zuba Expressway.
The Newspaper quoted a resident of the area, one Abdullahi Audu, as saying “harbouring strange or unknown faces at a time like this in our community when terrorists are penetrating everywhere is very dangerous.
“We can’t afford to accommodate individuals who will perpetrate evil or put our community in danger.”
“Another resident, Mrs Philomena Kalafere, also said, “Yes, I saw them on my way back from work. A big lorry brought them with their loads. Men, women and children; they were moving their things into the fenced land.”
