The crisis rocking the Oyo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress took another twist on Monday as its embattled Chairman, Mr Isaac Omodewu, inaugurated the state and local government executive committee of the party in spite of the refusal of aggrieved chieftains of the party to recognize him.

Notable members of the party including Chief Ayo Adeseun, Chief Tegbe, the Minister of Youths and Sports , Hon. Sunday Dare and host of others had in a communique described the congress that produced Omodewu as illegal and unacceptable.

It was submitted that Omodewu is being imposed on the party by a minority few.

However, Omodewu in a telephone conversation on a popular Ibadan based radio station described the statement credited to the aggrieved members as political.

Omodewu said he has the support of the majority members of the party contrary to the submission of some members of the party.

He disclosed that the present internal squabbles in the party would soon be resolved.

“Oyo APC is a big family. I have been meeting with the chieftains of the party.

“What is going on is purely politics. I have been to the homes of some of the chieftains. There is no personal grudge among us.

“Like I told the newly inaugurated exco this morning, what should be of utmost interest to us is how to wrest power from PDP.

“Consultation is still ongoing. I have told exco members at the state and local government levels to ensure that all grievances is resolved

“My message to our members is, let there be peace.” He said
