Osun: NDLEA Arrests 170 Suspected Drug Traffickers In 3 Months

News Investigators/ The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Osun Command, says it has arrested 170 illicit drug trafficking suspects in the state from January to March.

This is contained in the command’s quarterly reports made available to the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) on Monday in Osogbo.

The agency said the 170 suspects comprised of 143 males and 27 females, adding that 16 convictions had already been recorded.

“99.609kg of Cannabis Sativa, 24g of Cocaine, 6.585kg Psychotropic substance and 105.131kg Methamphetamine were also seized,” it said.

The agency also stated that it carried out 34 ‘war against drug abuse’ sensitisation campaigns during the period under review.

It disclosed that 51 drug abusers were counselled, while one was rehabilitated.
