The President of the Fellowship of Gospel Music Ministers of Nigeria, Asu Ekiye, has called on gospel singers and ministers across Nigeria to await the outcome of the autopsy on the late gospel artiste Osinachi Nwachukwu.

Ekiye, a popular award winning gospel artiste urged FOGGMON members to refrain from making further comments on the death of Osinachi which has become controversial until investigation is concluded with an autopsy report.

He said that it was important that the gospel artistes conduct themselves in a manner expected of them in order not to act in ways inimical to the investigation.

Shortly after the death of Osinachi occurred, the social media has been awash with posts that she died of domestic violence.

The outrage has unleashed an army of angry emergency marriage counselors attacking the doctrine of marriage in Christianity in the social media.

Following the raging controversy over her death Asu Ekiye, called for the immediate arrest of Osinachi’s husband who many have said was beating her.

The FOGGMON President had insisted that the arrest and interrogation of the husband should be the starting point of the investigation since his name had featured prominently in the allegations.

He said, “May I urge all music ministers especially FOGMMON members Nationwide to desist from further public comments about the death of our colleague and sister Osinachi until the conclusion of investigations and the subsequent release of the autopsy report .

“I think this is the proper thing to do. We must resist the temptation of making unverifiable and unsubstantiated remarks.
“We must conduct ourselves in a very mature and responsible manner so we don’t obfuscate the entire process leading to the unraveling of the Truth. “

The statement was released on his Facebook page on Sunday.

While Gospel Artiste, Edwin Alex claimed (reportedly) that she died of throat cancer, popular singer Frank Edwards put up an insinuating post that ‘an unreasonable human’ caused the death of the singer.
He did not expatriate further.

Osinachi who died at the age of 42 on Friday at an Abuja hospital was a leading chorister at Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja. She was famous for her song “Ekwueme;  “Nara Ekele,” a song by Pastor Paul Enenche (Dunamis, Abuja), “Ekwueme,” a song by Prospa Ochimana, and Emma’s “You no dey use me play” which  are just a few of her works.
