The immediate past Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom on Friday dispelled widespread speculation that he has been nominated for a ministerial position by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The former governor, in a statement by his media aide, Mr Terver Akase, described the report as fake news and urged members of the public to disregard the report.
He added that the reports is misleading and should be ignored by all.
The statement read in part: “The attention of the immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom has been drawn to the speculation on social media that he has been nominated for a ministerial appointment.
“We urge members of the public to disregard the report as it is false and misleading.
“Chief Ortom deeply appreciates those who have taken the time to call and verify the information.” He said
