An Igbo socio-political pressure group, Igboezue International Association Nigeria and the Diaspora (IIAND), has warned Gov. Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state to desist from making negative comments against Mr Peter Obi presidential ambition.
National President of IIAND, Chief Pius Okoye issued the warning in Onitsha, Anambra state on Friday.
He said that the group had been watching the actions and utterances of Umahi, from the time Obi contested with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s Vice Presidential Candidate in 2019.
He said that Umahi’s reaction to Obi’s Presidential ambition smacks of jealousy and sabotage.
He urged Umahi to retrace his steps to avoid the wrath òf Ndigbo.
He, however, urged Ndigbo in Nigeria and the Diaspora to get their Permanent Voters Card (PVC), prepare and vote massively for Obi, the Labour Party candidate in the forthcoming presidential election, saying that he is the only candidate that has solution to Nigeria problems.
Okoye also urged Nigerians irrespective of ethnic, religion, culture and social affiliations to support and vote for Obi who displayed commendable leadership capacity in governing Anambra State
He added that if given a chance Obi will do better for Nigeria as a country.
“We are surprised about some of the utterances attributed to Umahi, and we wonder what he has against Obi’s ambition from the time he contested under PDP, as Vice presidential Candidate in 2019 election.
Now that he has clinched the Labour Party ticket to contest for the president of Nigeria, we discovered that Umahi is acting funny.
“If Umahi does not support Obi, he should keep it to himself and stop the attacks.
“We in Igoezue International Association, Nigeria and the Diaspora, and I, Chief Pius Okoye, National President worldwide will work for, support and vote for Obi. We urge every sensible Igbo man, woman and youths to go and get their PVC and prepare to vote massively for Obi.
“This is the only opportunity Ndigbo has after PDP and APC dashed their chances of producing a Nigeria President of Igbo extraction.
“Ndigbo home and abroad should come out en masse physically, spiritually, financially and otherwise to ensure that Obi who is working so hard and making friends from outside Igbo land becomes the next president of Nigeria. He has all it take to make a good leader.
