News Investigators/ Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, renowned Kenyan scholar, Prof. Patrick Lumumba and Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, are among the key speakers expected at the 2025 National Leadership Conference in Abuja.
The two-day conference, which will also feature Dr Corrie Block, a global business strategist and executive coach, expected to bring together prominent leaders from Africa, Europe and the Middle East, is scheduled to commence on Sept. 5.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the conference entitled: “Transforming Minds and Inspiring Results,” is organised by GOTNI Leadership Foundation in Abuja.
Other expected speakers include: Amb. Gautier Mignot, Head of the European Union Delegation to Nigeria and Apostle Michael Orokpo, founder of Encounter Jesus Ministries International, among others.
Addressing newsmen on Friday, Founder of the foundation, Linus Okorie, said that leadership deficit had long impacted productivity, institutional growth and national development across Africa.
“For Nigeria to make strategic progress, leaders must deliberately find common platforms where mindsets can be transformed and inspired for great results.
“We need a critical mass of people who understand that leadership is about service, collaboration and impact,” he said.
Mr Okorie said that the conference was designed to help leaders navigate the current economic and social challenges facing Nigeria and the African continent.
According to him, many leaders are discouraged and uncertain about solutions, making it necessary to create forums where ideals of transformation and practical leadership models are shared.
He added that beyond knowledge-sharing, the event would provide networking opportunities to strengthen collaboration among leaders, while promoting a culture of service over personal gain.
“What we need is a massive investment in leadership development. In other countries, leadership training is budgetted for in schools, businesses and government institutions.
“Unfortunately in Nigeria, such budgets are often cut, especially in difficult times, leaving the country behind in innovation and transformation,” he stated.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the conference is expected to attract leaders from different sectors, including government, business, faith and civil society.
According to him, the discussions are aimed at equipping participants with the competence to inspire change, boost productivity and drive societal progress.
He said that the conference, which will hold at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, is open to public/private sector leaders as well as individuals interested in mind development for greater productivity.
