NIGERIAN YOUTHS FLOCKING TO OBI NOW, OBASEKI CRIES OUT

•••SAYS YOUTHS NOT LOOKING AT APC OR PDP

The Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki has expressed serious concern that Nigerians youths are flocking to Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in large numbers.

Obaseki said that the younger generation are neither looking at the ruling All Progressives Congress nor the major opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party.

The Edo Governor spoke while addressing over 135 PDP members comprising members of the National Executive Committee, State Executive Committee, and Zonal Committee of the party, at the party Secretariat in Benin City.

Obaseki, was urging the members of the Edo State Chapter of the PDP to unite and resolve all internal wranglings to put the party on the path of victory in the 2023 general elections.

The crucial meeting was held as a fallout to the defeat suffered by the PDP in the Ekiti State Gubernatorial election won by the ruling APC.

Obaseki warned that he was not sure of what would happen to the PDP in the face of the current political disposition of the youths if they don’t make the party attractive before the 2023 general elections.

“I don’t know whether you are closely watching what is going on. The level of disenchantment with the existing parties.

“And so in all our homes now we have too many people now who call themselves ‘obedients.’ I don’t know whether you have them in your house.

“Just ask them, all those children, which party are you and they say, ‘obedient.’

“They don’t want us, they are not talking about APC or PDP.

“They are looking for alternatives and they are much more. You see all of them queuing for PVC now.

“They are not looking the direction of APC or PVC. They are looking for alternatives.

“And if we don’t curb this, if we don’t make our party attractive, I do not know what will happen in the next election,” He lamented
