NIGERIA ARMY GETS NEW SPOKESMAN

Former Defence Spokesman, Brig General Mohammed Yerima, had been appointed Spokesman of the Nigerian Army.

Yerima, a fantastic gentleman officer of the Nigerian Army did exceptionally well as Director Defence Information during some of the tough days of the Boko Haram insurgency.

His appointment is celebrated in defence circles as he is not new to this terrain.

He never failed to pick or return calls from curious defence correspondents who would bombard his lines at odd hours to seek seemingly unpleasant clarifications on stories involving the combined military operations.

Yerima is billed to formally resume his new position on February 10, 2021.

He replaces Brig Gen Sagir Musa who has been redeployed.

Until his appointment, Yerima was the Deputy Director, Reserve at the Defence Headquarters.
