Nigeria Air: EFCC Quizzes Former Aviation Minister, Brother Over N8bn Fraud

Operatives of the  Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have arrested a former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, over alleged eight billion Naira fraud.

Sirika served as the Minister of Aviation under the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

The EFCC operatives arrested the former minister in connection with an ongoing investigation into an alleged N8 billion fraud involving the Nigeria Air

The former minister who arrived the EFCC Office At 1:00 pm on Tuesday.

 faced  the commission’s  investigators over an alleged fraudulent contracts awarded by him to a company known as Engirios Nigeria Limited.

Engirios Nigeria Limited is believed to be owned  by the Minuster’s  younger sibling, Abubakar Sirika.

The Commission had probed the activities of the Aviation ministry under Sirika in February for conspiracy, abuse of office, diversion of public funds, and contract inflation, criminal breaches of trust and money laundering amounting to N8,069,176,864.00 during Sirika’s tenure in office.

Abubakar Sirika is said to be both the Managing Director Engirios Nigeria Limited and the sole signatory to its account.

The Network gathered that the former Minister’s younger brother Abubakar Sirika, has been arrested and detained by the commission in connection with N3,212,258,930.18 paid Engirios Nigerian Limited’s, bank account by the former minister.

Investigators say that It they had not found any traces of work done on any contract items.
