The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, disclosed on Saturday in Ibadan that High Chief Lekan Balogun would be officially unveiled as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland on Monday.
Makinde made the disclosure at the farewell service in honour of the Late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, Ajeogunguniso 1 at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan.
High Chief Balogun will be coronated as 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland at a yet to be fixed date.
It will be recalled that two weeks ago, the kingmakers met and recommended Chief Balogun as the new Olubadan in line with the agelong succession policy.
The kingmakers including the erstwhile governor of the State, Senator Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja had forwarded their recommendation letter to the governor for final approval.
