Lagos Guber: Hamzat Emerges APC Candidate Unopposed In Agege

News Investigators/ The incumbent Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, on Thursday emerged unopposed in Agege council area as the APC  candidate for Lagos governorship race in 2027.

Mr Hamzat won in all the 11 wards  in Agege during the APC governorship primary election at the Agege Stadium.

The deputy governor contested as the sole aspirant and won  through affirmation votes by  members of the party.

The Returning Officer, Debola Ladigbolu, who is the Lagos APC Assistant Legal Adviser, said that Hamzat won with 14,053 votes.

In his remarks after the exercise, Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly,  thanked members of the constituency for peaceful and orderly primary election.

Mr Obasa applauded  leaders and members of APC in Agege for turning out en masse for the election.

According to him, politics in Agege has been well structured to allow peaceful coexistence among residents.

“We will continue to strive higher through our collective responsibilities, and our council chairmen will embark on massive poverty alleviation programmes,” he said.
