News Investigators/ Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, has reaffirmed his administration’s strong commitment to pensioners’ welfare in the state.
This is contained in a statement by the management of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), in Abuja on Monday.
According to PenCom, Mr Ododo reiterated the Kogi Government position when he paid a courtesy visit to the commission.
He highlighted the ongoing measures by his administration to ensure the regular disbursement of monthly gratuity payments and the clearance of outstanding pension liabilities to pensioners in the state.
He also noted his continued advocacy for pension sector reforms, which began even before assuming office as the Kogi governor.
The governor also congratulated Omolola Oloworaran on her recent appointment as Director-General (D-G) of PenCom, describing her as a proud daughter of the state, while pledging his unwavering support at all times.
In her remarks, the D-G commended the governor’s dedication to the welfare of retirees and acknowledged the important role he had played in addressing pension-related challenges.
She expressed PenCom’s readiness to collaborate with the Kogi government to further strengthen pension administration and safeguard the welfare of workers and retirees in the state.
According to the statement, both parties reaffirms their shared vision of building a sustainable and transparent pension system that guarantees financial security for workers during retirement.
