KIDNAPPED NPC’S BAYELSA COMMISSIONER REGAINS FREEDOM AFTER FIVE DAYS

A Federal Commissioner with the National Population Commission in Bayelsa state, Mrs Gloria Izonfuo, who was kidnapped by gunmen along Ogbakiri axis of the East-West Road in Rivers State, has been freed by her captors.

She regained her freedom after five days in captivity.

Mrs Izonfuo, a former Head of Service in Bayelsa State was abducted alongside her driver and maid while traveling from Brass, Bayelsa State to Port Harcourt around Ogbakiri junction in Emuoha Local Government Area of Rivers State on Sunday. 

The Police Public Relations Officer  of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed her release to the on media Friday.

“Yes, she was released this morning (Friday). An investigation is still ongoing to apprehend the kidnappers and make them face justice,” Iringe-Koko stated.

The Police Spokesperson was silent on the driver and the maid.
