Iworiso-Markson Visits Former President Jonathan, Solicits Support for House of Reps Ambition

Former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has sued for peace among his kinsmen vying for various elective positions in the 2023 general elections.

He stated that the tenets of democracy can only flourish when peace is allowed to prevail and stressed that elections should not divide people but rather make them more united.

Jonathan made the remark on Monday, when the immediate past Commissioner for Information and Orientation in Bayelsa State, Daniel Iworiso-Markson visited him at his Abuja home.

The visit was to formally inform the ex-president of his ambition to contest the House of Representative seat to represent Ogbia Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.

The former President who warmly received Iworiso-Markson, described him as a very industrious young man, who has been flying the flag of Ogbia Local Government Area high wherever he goes.

He noted that Iworiso-Markson, was the third person from the Oloibiri group who had come to intimate him of their aspiration and prayed God to direct him well as he continues his consultations and engagements.

Earlier in his remarks, Iworiso-Markson, commended the former President for his role as a peace mediator across the African continent and solicited his support to actualize his ambition.

He said after several struggles, he yielded to the pressure by stakeholders across the three constituencies in Ogbia to run for the election and assured that if elected he will bring an unusal kind of representation that will imlact directly on hls constituents.

Iworiso-Markson, who is also the Publisher of First News Online, used the opportunity to present the print version of the wave making newspaper to Jonathan.

Present at the meeting was Barrister Rex Ogbuku, one of the leading lights in Ogbia and a senatorial hopeful in the 2023.
