The youths in Anambra State have commenced an operation  to complement maintenance of peace and order in the State.

The angry youths on Sunday, took the bold step to flush out those perpetrating acts of violence and turning the State into a killing field.

Governor Charles Soludo had said that 85 percent of the hoodlums wreaking havoc and committing gristly acts of murder are from a particular state in the South East.

Although, Soludo did not mention the particular state, a source close to the Anambra State Governor told The Network that he was referring to the neighboring Imo State where the Eastern Security Network has its operational headquarters in Orsu Local Government Area of the state.

Anambra communities such as Lilu, ihiala, Orsumogu, Uli, those in Aguta share boundary with some of the areas affected by the IPOB crisis in Imo State.

An obviously angry Soludo disclosed this while touring the burnt Aguata Local Government Area Secretariat, in Ekwulobia on April 8.

The Network gathered that Anambra youths stormed the camp of suspected ‘unknown gunmen’/ESN in Ichi, Anambra State and burned down houses belonging to those responsible for killings, kidnappings and arson around Ichi, Oba and Ojoto, areas of the state.

The source said some of the suspected gunmen were have been arrested by the angry youths and their shrine and properties, set Ablaze.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr  Ikenga Tochukwu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, told the Network that the command was studying a trending video on social media about the action taken by the youths with a view to ascertaining the veracity of the  development.

Ikenga disclosed that operatives of the command have been deployed to the areas and investigations have comenced in order to get to the root of the matter.

“The command is studying the trending social media reports and we have sent our operatives to the communities and investigations are ongoing on the matter,” he said.
