Police operatives of the Imo State Command have rescued the kidnapped former Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Samuel Ohiri.
The Network gathered that the State Commissioner of Police Danjuma Aboki and his men worked along side other security agencies to rescued the monarch.
The king was abducted by gunmen from his palace in Orodo community, Mbaitoli LGA of Imo state on January 6.
The hoodlums held him 13 days.
Reports quoted the Police Public Relations Officer SP Henry Okoye as having that the kidnappers abandoned the traditional ruler due to the hot chase by his men.
“Recall the Command has been working assiduously in synergy with other security agencies towards ensuring that Eze Ohiri is released and some arrest have been made.
“To the glory of God he has been released, after a hot chase on his kidnappers at the forest by operatives of the Command’s Anti kidnapping unit.
“The Command will continue to work towards stamping out all forms of violent crimes in the State. As CP Danjuma reaffirms the Command’s resolve to work harmoniously with the Military and other security agencies in stamping out violent crimes in the State.”
