I DONATED MY N20M PARTY NOMINATION FORM TO APC BECAUSE OF PRESENT LEADERSHIP—-AKUME

The former Governor of Benue State, Senator George Akume said he donated his national chairmanship party nomination form money to the APC, as a sacrifice for the success of the party under the present leadership of the party.

It could be remembered that President Mohammadu Buhari ordered the APC, to refund the monies used to purchase the party’s nomination of interest form in the last convention as a condition for embracing consensus,

Akume made the disclosure while addressing Journalists during a solidarity visit to the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, at the party National Secretariat Abuja, on Tuesday.

He stated that the issue of the money does not arise because he had willingly donated his own money to the party adding that he expected others to do same.

He said what is important is to see the party succed and that was why he donated his own as way of supporting the present leadership of the party to succeed and to continue the good work that President Buhari is doing.

“I had willingly donated my own to the party and I believe others would do the same thing. We have this basic understanding, we have to support the present leadership of the party to succeed; that is what is important so that we will continue with the good work that Mr president is  doing.”

He said his meeting with the National Chairman of the party was successful and that the Chairman of the party charged the people of Benue State that they should be united.

He explained that their visit to the Chairman was a solidarity visit and to congratulate the Chairman on his victory, as the Chairman of the greatest party in Africa.

“This is a party that have membership of over 42 million Nigerians. Clearly legitimise by the photograph that we have  on each form and I can  say at a point that our junior partners have tried to do what we did so successfully.

“The revalidation excercise, they tried twice and they fail twice. So we are very proud of this record that we are the biggest political party in West Africa.

” Having said that, let me turn to what you have said, a very big political party like the APC even at the state level is expected to have a little irritations here and there but these irritations are not sufficiently strong to break the organic unity of the party in Benue state. Even members of the same family occasionally have some issues”. He stated.

He assured Nigerians particularly the APC and the National Chairman of the party that the little crisis in Benue State are going to be squarely addressed for the benefit of the party and for the benefit of their teaming supporters.

According to him, Nigerian are  looking onto the APC as the only hope of the common man in Benue State and even at the national level.
