A former member of the House of Representatives, Barr. Uche Onyeagucha, has indicated interest to contest the Imo East Senatorial seat election in 2023.
Onyeagucha who represented the Owerri Federal Constituency was Secretary to the Imo State Government during the truncated administration of Chief Emeka Ihedioha.
He declared his interest to contest the Imo East Senatorial District seat, in a short video sent to one of our correspondents on Saturday.
Onyeagucha said that the year 2022 promises to be decisive in the history of Nigeria and would require effective political participation from men of courage and integrity.
The former Federal lawmaker stressed that the country which faces the challenge of insecurity and a limping economy was in need of courageous and forthright representatives like him at the red chambers.
“The year 2022 will be decisive in the history of Nigeria. In recent years, we have been faced with problems of insecurity, failed economy and secessionist agitations.
“These problems facing Nigeria requires representatives of courage and integrity to address.
“I use this medium to announce that I have decided to run for the Imo East Senatorial District election in the year 2023.
“I am running this race with every sense of responsibility and accountability to the zone.” He said
