Gov. Bago Celebrates Abdulsalami’s Legacy Of Peace, Unity, Democracy

News Investigators/ Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, has hailed Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar as an epitome of peace, unity, and patriotism.

The governor noted the ex-Head of State’s immense contributions to entrenching democratic governance and driving national development.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim in Minna to mark Abubakar’s 84th birthday, Bago said the former head of state initiated and implemented a seamless transition from military to democratic rule.

“I commend the celebrant for his consistent efforts in ensuring that Nigeria and other West African countries remain peaceful and politically stable.

“It is not a coincidence that he is widely referred to as the father of Nigeria’s democracy.

“His selfless sacrifices and inspiring leadership, both during and after his years in service, will remain invaluable in Nigerian history,” Bago said.

He prayed that Gen. Abubakar would continue to enjoy peace, age gracefully, and remain an inspiration to future generations.
