FRSC Announces One-Day Traffic Diversion On Kaduna-Zaria Highway

News Investigators/ The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kaduna State Sector Command, has announced a one-day traffic diversion on the Kaduna-Zaria axis of the A2 highway.

The Sector Commander, Andrew Longkam, made the announcement in a statement issued in Kaduna.

He said the diversion would take place on Sunday, Sept. 6, at DK825, Kwaranza Village, where the highway intersects with the Kaduna-Kano railway line.

According to the advisory, the diversion would last from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to facilitate the inspection of railway bridge beams under the Kaduna-Kano Rail Modernisation Project.

The command said only one lane of the dual carriageway would be open to traffic during the exercise.

It added that caution signs, cones and diversion markers would be deployed at strategic points to guide motorists through the affected section.

The FRSC said its patrol teams would be stationed at the location to control traffic and ensure the safety of road users.

The command advised motorists to reduce their speed and exercise extreme caution when approaching the diversion.

It also urged motorists to avoid overtaking around the affected area, plan their journeys ahead and use alternative routes where possible.

The corps further appealed to motorists to obey all traffic control devices and instructions from its personnel to prevent crashes and ensure smooth traffic flow.

“For enquiries, motorists may contact the Kaduna Sector Command on 09139600011, Zaria Unit Command on 09139601839 or 09139601840, or the national toll-free line 122.”

The FRSC apologised for any inconvenience the temporary diversion might cause and reiterated its commitment to promoting road safety.

It urged motorists to drive safely and obey traffic rules, stressing that safety remained a collective responsibility.
