FORMER SPEAKER, Ghali Umar Na’Abba, Is Dead

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’Abba, is dead.

A close Associate of the prominent politician said that Na’Abba has been sick for some time.

The Network gathered that the former Speaker died in the early hours of Wednesday in an Abuja Hospital.

Born on September 27, 1958, the second Speaker of the House of Representatives in the fourth republic died in Abuja on Wednesday morning at the age of 65.

Na’Abba had earlier been flown abroad for treatment where he spent some months before returning to the country after recovering.

He became  Speaker of the House of Representatives as a fall out of the political scandal that forced  the first Speaker of the Fourth Republic,  Salisu Buhari out of office.

Na’Abba had won election to the House of Representatives under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party to represent Kano Municipal Federal Constituency in April 1999.

The Network gathered that arrangements are in to bury him according to Islamic rites.
