News Investigators/ The Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar, has conferred the traditional title of Soniyanko Nupe (Great Queen of Nupe Land) on the First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu.
Mr Abubakar, who is also the Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, conferred the title on the First Lady during a courtesy visit to the monarch at his palace on Saturday in Bida.
The Etsu Nupe said the honour was in recognition of the humanitarian support and assistance rendered by the First Lady to victims of insecurity and natural disasters, especially the Mokwa flooding in the state.
Mr Abubakar described her husband, President Bola Tinubu, as a friend of the Nupe Kingdom and assured him of continuous support and prayers for the success of policies and programmes for nation’s development.
Responding, the First Lady appreciated the Etsu Nupe for the honour and pledged continued support to the palace and the people of Niger State.
Tinubu said the conferment of the traditional title had further challenged her to do more for the Nupe Kingdom and the state at large.
